I'm really of very mixed feelings about it. Part of me strongly feels that just having it off the table would make life a lot simpler...

Another part acknowledges that I like keeping the two areas separate and that it probably wouldn't make THAT much of a difference, on the whole.

Still on the fence, but leaning more towards keeping it based on your remarks. Thanks for commenting!

Joe, I too would go with Bill's advice. In any case, it isn't competition if you have different thoughts to bring to the table. It enriches the total content on the Internet. Remember that many will be checking new items with their news feed aggregators so it isn't necessary to stick to a fixed and too fast rhythm of adding blog posts. After all, Google indexes web pages not websites, so approximately the same content will be equally search engine visible wherever you put it.

However if you feel from an administrative point of view, one less place to worry about is important, then go for it. :)

It's hard to write to a couple of different blogs.

And it may seem like competition to be writing about search related issues in this blog. However, there may be room in the community of SEO related blogs to have someone blogging about search related issues from a development stance. And, it gives you access to the world of those search marketing consultants. Just something else to think about. :)
